Favorite moment related to golf?
NH Golfer Gal: Golf is such a big part of my life and so much of my life revolves around the game that picking one moment is really hard. I would have to say either getting to spend special time with my dad, getting to know my coach or meeting Annika would be at the top!
June: In 2015 on my birthday I was playing in a tournament at Grey Rock golf club in Austin. I didn't play very well and I ended up tied for second. It had been a rough round but when I was finished the round my little brother who was two ran up to me and handed me a bouquet of flowers.
Carys: My favorite moment related to golf was meeting one of my all-time favorite PGA Tour players, Tony Finau, right after one of his best rounds. Getting a picture with him was one of the coolest experiences.
Lindsay: My favorite moment related to golf is when I went to these lessons when I was maybe six years old. My teacher was so sweet and helped us practice. But what I mainly learned from her was the rules of the game, how to remain respectful on the golf course and how to have good etiquette. I am so thankful that I was able to learn at such a young age and have such a fun time doing so.
Who has been your biggest influence in the game?
NH Golfer Gal: My biggest influence in the game is either my dad, Annika or my coach Abby! My dad is the one that started me in the game and the one that started teaching me to play, drives me to most of my tournaments, and he believes in me! My coach has been through so much and I learn a ton from her, she has caddied for me and she believes in me and pushes me to work hard and be the best that I can be and work for what I want! Annika has always been an inspiration and she is the greatest female golfer to ever play the game and in my opinion maybe the greatest of all time! From her effortless-looking swing to her perfect putting stroke to the way she handles herself on the course. I dream of having a career like her and her game!
June: Hands down, my dad! He has shown me that if you work hard you can do anything. He has always been there for me and without him, I would have never been as successful as I am.
Carys: My biggest influence in the game has probably been my father.
Lindsay: My biggest influence in the game has always been my dad. He always takes me to practice and helps me when I am making changes to my swing. He supports me so much and encourages me to never give up.
Favorite PGA Tour player?
NH Golfer Gal: Marc Leishman, Phil Mickelson, Xander Schauffele, Henrik Stenson, Tommy Fleetwood, and Danny Lee are just some of my favorites! I love these players for many reasons, they are inspirations and they are so much fun to watch!
June: It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to narrow it down it would have to be Rickie Fowler, Jordan Speith, or Bubba Watson.
Carys: My favorite PGA tour player is Tony Finau because he is very underrated for how talented he is.
Favorite LPGA Tour player?
NH Golfer Gal: Stacy Lewis, Annika, Morgan Pressel, Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn, Georgia Hall, Jessica and Nelly Korda, and Lexi Thompson! I love so many of the players on the LPGA Tour because they inspire me to work hard and they are such incredible athletes. Their drive and motivation push me to be better!
June: My favorite LPGA tour player has to be Stacy Lewis. She has overcome so much adversity and persevered through every challenge she has been faced with. She is an amazing role model and really inspires me to be the best that I can be.
Carys: My favorite LPGA tour player is Lexi Thompson because she is such a strong female competitor.
Pro in general?
NH Golfer Gal: Abby! She is such an amazing person, golfer, coach and I am so lucky that she has coached me for so long. She knows so much about the game and I look forward to every lesson with her because I know I will learn something valuable about the game but also about life!
June: My old golf coach Coach Michael was and is the best. He not only helped me improve my game he helped me improve my mental side as well. Without his help, I would have never been able to be as successful as I am.
Carys: One of my favorite teaching professionals is Kelli Kostic, she knows so much about the game and has so much experience along with a great personality.
Lindsay: My favorite teacher is Pam Sheerin, she teaches little kids the basics of golf and to always remain positive and respectful. For three years I did her camps and learned so much at a young age. In summer, sometimes I help her out with the camps. The kids enjoy it so much and it reminds me of how much fun I used to have. Mrs. Sheerin is a wonderful and sweet person. She is super supportive and dedicated to helping kids learn important life skills.
Hero?
NH Golfer Gal: I don't just have one hero related to golf I have three. Golf is often an individual sport however so many people contribute to my game mentally and physically! My three heroes are Annika, my dad, and Abby! My dad and Abby help me every day with my game and they have shaped me and my game to where it is today and I look forward to continuing the journey! Annika is such an inspiration and I aspire to be like her! She played in the 2003 Colonial as the first female to play in a PGA Tour event in 58 years. She redefined what it means to be a female golfer and athlete in general.
June: One of my mentors that has really made an impact on my life us Kristin Gillman. When she was in high school she practiced on the same course I did. She was a great role model and showed me that if I worked hard I could do anything.
Carys: One of the golfers I think of like my hero is Annika Sorenstam. I look up to her because she was the first female to play in a PGA Tour event, in 2003. She redefined the definition of "female golfer" and showed many young women that they could too! She inspires me to push myself out of my comfort zone and challenge my game!
Next week I will share the answers to the last three questions! Stay safe, home and healthy everyone!
