Volunteering for First Tee!

Hi everyone,

Here in NH, this past week was a school vacation week for many, so I hope you all had a good week!

I spent a few days of my break volunteering with the First Tee of New Hampshire. This was such an incredible experience and I can't wait to continue throughout the spring/summer! The First Tee is an incredible non-profit organization with a mission of growing the game of golf and helping shape youth into good people and instilling life-long core values.

This week I worked with two groups of kids, a younger session of 6-8 year-olds and then an older session of 9-15 year-olds. During the session with the younger kids, we worked on some basics with the short game, putting, and full swings. Incorporating the First Tee's nine core values which include honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, confidence, respect, perseverance, responsibility, courtesy, and judgment. Seeing all of the little kids, especially the three little girls reminded me of when I was first starting out and how much I love this game! With the older kids they played on the course and were able to gain on-course experience and incorporate important life lessons into their time.

The coaches at The First Tee of New Hampshire are such wonderful people with so much knowledge to share. I am looking forward to helping out again in the coming weeks!

If you are just starting out in the game or looking for a fun way to practice and meet new people check out the First Tee near you! Here is a link to the First Tee of New Hampshire website https://www.firstteenh.org/

Have a great week and get out there and play some golf!
